Your role with us
You will work according to the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons, and the target group is children and young people. Within the operation, there are short-term stays and short-term supervision (leisure). We want you to have an interest in the development and independence of children and young people. You want to create a sense of community that includes customers, relatives, and staff. The realization of human rights is a given for us.
Like other employees, you will participate in the daily tasks of the operation. From a child and youth perspective, you will work with values and quality that promote the customer's participation, self-determination, and integrity. You are responsible for the educational content of the operation and contribute to creating conditions for learning, both from a customer perspective and collegial learning. You will guide the workgroup from a salutogenic perspective - enabling a life that is manageable, comprehensible, and meaningful. You are responsible for planning and implementing stimulating activities together with customers and colleagues that contribute to learning and participation in society. The work is carried out in close dialogue with the unit manager and other staff. To offer meaningful leisure time, it is important to also monitor what offerings are available in the local area.
Using visually clarifying and alternative communication, provide customers with the opportunity to interpret and understand their daily lives and surroundings. The work is carried out in close dialogue with the unit manager and other staff. Working hours are scheduled for day/evening and weekends.
As a Support Educator, you are tasked with pedagogically guiding colleagues in customer-facing work to increase individual independence and the ability to live like others. In daily work, you guide, for example, in motivational work and preventing challenging behavior. You use various tools in guidance such as low-arousal responses, alternative and augmentative communication, motivational interviewing, and clarifying pedagogy.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with post-secondary specialization in the field of disabilities that includes at least 200 YH points or 60 university credits. The education should have a clear focus on the disability area in its entirety. We want you to have good knowledge and experience of both intellectual and neuropsychiatric disabilities (autism spectrum/ADHD) and experience with clarifying pedagogy/TEACCH and low-arousal responses. Experience working with young adults is an advantage.
It is also advantageous if you have education and experience in the following:• Motivational interviewing• Salutogenic approach• Social interaction and network theory• Communication and alternative communication• Neuropsychiatry• Social documentation• Social law• Evidence-based practice
For the role, it is required that you have good collaboration skills and an easy time building trust and good relationships. Since communication and documentation are part of your duties, you need to master the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. You need to have general computer skills and knowledge of the Office suite, and preferably experience working in Lifecare. A B driver's license is a requirement.

The operations are functionally divided into four areas: support in ordinary housing, support in care and nursing homes, health and medical care, and functional support.
